Profile Picture Auction
2015/09/05 15:58 / Leave a comment
How would you like your logo or a picture of your choice to replace my Twitter profile pic? This past month my account had an impressions count of over 51k! Thats a lot of exposure! For the week starting at midnight on September 7th 2015 until midnight on September 14th 2015 I will auction off my Twitter profile picture to the highest donor to my current fundraising efforts for the RBC Run For The Kids! It’s simple just click on “DONATE HERE” below to make a donation and be the highest donor! It’s a win-win situation! You will be ensuring more youth get connected with the specific resources and treatment they require for their specific needs AND you get the chance to promote your brand!
DONATE HERE
All images will be reviewed and approved by me prior to posting. I will need to screen the submitted picture to ensure there is nothing illegal or damaging to my own personal brand. I am confident that what is submitted by the highest donner will be perfectly fine to post but I do reserve the right to reject the image based on its content up to and including but not limited to: vulgarity, nudity, discrimination, harassment, and or anything illegal.
Here’s how it will work! During the contest period noted above, you can make as many donations as you like and I will add them together. Who ever has made the highest total combined donation at the stroke of midnight on the 14th will win and I will notify them via the email address they used to donate on the morning of September 15th 2015 and ask for an image to be submitted. I will then use that image as my Twitter profile image for the duration of one week commencing 9 am September 17 2015 and ending 9pm September 24th. During this week I will also post the image to my twitter 3 times announcing the winner.
So good luck everyone and I cant wait to see who wins!!

These wonderful people along with myself are committed and dedicated to ensuring you have the best running experience as well as helping you meet your health and fitness goals. Whether you’re looking for a cheer squad to finding the perfect training plan or motivation to keep you going on those tough days (we all have them) you will find everything you need in this fine group! We will also be promoting the run to ensure it gets the exposure it needs to connect our youth with the right professionals who can meet their individual mental health needs. Please take moment to check out each ambassadors bio and shoot them a follow on their listed social media channels.
It would be really cool if you would consider running with us or donating to the event. All running types and skills levels are welcomed and encouraged. Hey they let me run right? 🙂 All the money you donate will directly impact the only 20% who currently receive specialized treatment for conditions such as anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, depression or addiction.
Looking forward to making a difference with you!
Thank you for your support!
I would also like to take a moment to thank the generous contributions from the race sponsors; it couldn’t happen without their support:

So why did I choose to run @RBCRun4theKids 15k?
2014/05/07 22:32 / 2 Comments on So why did I choose to run @RBCRun4theKids 15k?
Continuing on my running journey I have chosen to run the RBC Run for the Kids 15km distance. I chose this race and distance for a few resons. First I felt 15km was the perfect distance for me having just started running at the beginning of this year. Second the money rasied from this race benfits the Family Navigation Project at Sunnybrook Hopsital. As a Paramedic I too often see the impact of mental health issues on youth. I hear many stories from them and their families of the difficulties of tying to find their way through the health care system. They frequently become frustrated and lose thier drive to get better due to a lack of education in a very confusing system. They often simply just dont know where to start! Cue the Family Navigation project at Sunnybrook Health Sciences center.
This program fills a very large gap in the mental health care system! However it cannot function without donations from wonderful people like you! Last year the RBC Run for the Kids raised $1.2 million to help young people get back on track to a brighter future.
So how can you help?
You can sponsor a runner or family/group.
Even better I be really really happy if you would sponsor me!
Come out to the event and cheer me and the other runners on! They have a great kids zone planned
RUN with me 😀 in the 15km run, or the 5km run/walk/stroll or the 25km run. If you’re new to running I will always offer advice from my experience as well as lots and lots of encouragement! If you would like some training plans and tips check this out as well
Thanks for reading and I hope to meet you on September 20th Mel Lastman Square!
