Have you driven to Florida? I need your opinion!

Hey all!

With my family’s upcoming drive to Florida I am looking for your opinion of the best route to get there from Ontario Canada.  I have always entered the US by car via Buffalo.  My first thought was to do that again this time however I’ve been told that the Windsor/Detroit route will be better since it is mostly highway driving.  Google maps says the drive is aprox 1hr faster (negligible I think on a 20hr drive) on the Buffalo route over the Windsor/Detroit route.  There is also the issue of traffic; I’ve heard Atlanta traffic can be horrendous.  The plan is to leave home before lunch stay in a hotel for one night then arrive at Disney before noon the next day.  I am torn!!  I’d love to have your opinion.  Please also add your comments on why you think a certain route is better at the bottom in the comments section.

Appreciate the feedback everyone!

    Once drove from NYC. Once.
    I’d say Niagara falls though.

OH! you’ve totally made me reminisce of moving to Daytona Beach. We did that by going through the Michigan border (since Dan has family in/around Detroit). And at the time (1996 – practically before the internet or at least before WIFI phones), I bought a book that told me about what was at every exit along the way. Totally kept me occupied. So which ever way you go, definitely plan out a few options on where you’d want to stay and possibly whats happening at every 4 hours exit. That way if you have the “I’m hungry” or “I have to pee”, you’re covered. Yes, the Michigan way is straight Interstate and the Buffalo way is a bit more “highway”. I guess you might also want to think about what you want to see or how many times you want to stop. Oh and Atlanta (since I’ve lived there too), its not really as bad as you think. I mean, its not busy all the time. Maybe plan on driving through there on non-rush hour times if you take that route. I think its probably a bit better than going through Toronto in rush hour. I don’t suggest taking the by-pass in Atlanta (285) I think it will add too much additional time to the drive (but hey you’ll pass by the exit that leads to our house :D)). I have taken the Buffalo route once and it was fine. I actually seem to remember that there were times I didn’t have great cell service thou (been probably 6/7 years since we did that drive so maybe it has changed). So that was a bit of frustration (man, how did we live before without cell phones?!?!)

We never realized how hard this tragedy would hit us. 😭. Can’t imagine what these families are going though. #PutYourSticksOut #HumboldtStrong
Papa was always so proud of Noah in everything he did especially his hockey. He always wanted to be there for his games and practices; you could always see the pride in his eyes and they way he spoke about how he was progressing. We lost papa last summer to cancer and it made Noah’s first season as a select player difficult because he wasn’t with us to experience this incredible season and Noah’s exponential increase in skills. Noah is raising money for the pedal for hope campaign in honour of his papa by shaving his head at his school. Please consider a donation ,no amount is too small, and help him reach his goal. Just tried out the new @underarmourca #UAHOVR #uahovrphantom shoes! These shoes have the same great heal cusion/bounce as the #uahovrsonic that I love. I also like that there is no tongue to pull up on these and you just slide you foot right in! The colour is super hot and bright however they will get dirty fast so be aware if you don’t like your shoe getting dirty. But, if you don’t like getting your shoes dirty then why are you running outside? Lol. I did find my heals slid a bit in the shoe but if you have great socks like I do then you shouldn’t have a problem. One other thing I noticed about this shoe is that the toe box is not very roomy so if you have insoles that you like to run in or your Fort requires extra room then you will find your toes hitting the top of the shoes. I ended up with a sore big toe on my nail after this run. I’ll have to use less of an insole or none at all when I use this shoe again. The shoe had great give and elasticity around the whole shoe so it really fit nicely around the top of my foot. I found there was good ankle support and didn’t notice any rolling when I transitioned to the uneven grass from the sidewalks and roadways. Overall another great shoe from #UnderArmor and I would highly recommend it when picking new shoes. As always when I talk to people about shoes please try on as many as possible to find the pair that best suits your foot shape, your gait and support that you require. Thank you @underarmourca and @paradigm_pr for giving me these shoes to try out and share with you guys! #CanadaWILL @enertorglobal @teamtiux
