Hand Washing Basics: Fight the Flu with Clean Hands

Advertisements

I was asked to share an infographic about hand washing.  I chose to share this with you guys because I feel it’s a really important reminder for us all!  Please wash your hands!  Wash them more frequently!  Wash them more often!  Wash them for longer than you think!  When in doubt wash your hands!

Lets all work together to slow down the spread of germs and viruses.  We can all do our part to ease the burden on the health care system in general with this simple, often forgotten, task!

Stay clean and germ free 🙂

Wash your hands. How many times did our parents tell us that growing up? Turns out, it was pretty good advice. The simple act of hand washing is one of the easiest and best ways to prevent the spread of germs. That makes it key in regards to cold and flu prevention. While most of us don’t think we need handwashing instructions, there are a few general suggestions you should keep in mind. They can have a big impact on workplace wellness.
For the cleanest hands, follow these six steps every time you wash. First, wet your hands with running water. Next add hand soap and create a rich lather. Then rub your hands together for 20 seconds. That’s about as long as it takes to sing happy birthday quietly in your head two times. Fourth, rinse your hands thoroughly under running water. Then dry your hands with clean paper towels. And, finally, use the wet paper towel to turn off the faucet and open the handle of the bathroom door when you leave.
Reminding co-workers of these commonsense guidelines to cleanliness will go a long way toward promoting workplace wellness and reducing employee absenteeism due to colds and flu.

I worked in one of our local hospitals and in orientation we learned proper hand washing. I’ll never forget, she said sing the “Happy Birthday” song twice then they’ll be clean! Great tip~ and I’ve done it ever since:)

It’s great to know! It’s also great for the kids! Mine anyways always seem to be in a rush when washing hands. Same thing for teeth brushing and signing the ABC’s. Thanks for reading and commenting Dawn! 🙂

Happy birthday to this smart, talented, beautiful girl today. ❤️❤️❤️ @kayleigh.dancer011
Moved a couple of weights around the other day. Man it’s hard to get my workout and running desire back again! I did get the chance to try out some @underarmourca RUSH gear that was sent to me! This shirt and tights felt amazing to put on and did not impact my range of motion at all. I could def feel the energy and heat being reflected back to me while I was working out. I did feel muscle soreness for a few days after but I attribute that to my lack of consistency more than anything! The fabric in this line is infused with minerals to reflect energy back into the body and improve performance similar to an infrared sauna. The science behind this says the minerals absorb the body’s heat and converts it into infrared energy that is re-emitted back into the body. This then increases localized circulation which results in improved performance and recovery. Check out what others are saying and search up the hashtag #UARush! I love it and will now be exclusively using this for all my workouts and running! Now if I can just work on my motivation and consistency and will to get out! Lol. I’m sure I’m not alone with this? Have any of you had this problem?
Nothing beats the feeling of brand new @enertorglobal comfort insoles in my work boots! #insoles #teamenertor #foothealth
